Sicom Industries breaks ground on new facility in Houston

Houston Council Member Jerry Davis and Michael Chester, President of Sicom Industries, were on hand to help break ground Monday, Feb. 17, on a state-of-the-art World Class fully air-conditioned CNC Manufacturing facility.
Sicom Industries is an ultramodern manufacturer of Oil & Gas Safety Equipment and critical parts for the Defense Industry. Sicom is currently located in Vancouver Canada in a 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

Sicom Industries Ltd., www.sicomindustries.com was founded in 1986 to meet a growing market for high-tech, precision production manufacturing. Initially, two Computer Numerically Controlled mills (CNCs) were bought which was the beginning of their Vancouver facility. Sicom currently employs more than 75 personnel and will be employing CNC Machinist and Manufacturing Engineers in their new Houston location. Sicom is expecting to expand their business significantly over the next 3 to 5 years in the Oil & Gas sector.
Davis and Nicole Smothers, from city of Houston Planning and Development, were present at the ground breaking.
Davis and Chester had the opportunity to discuss Sicom’s plans for expansion, and how the city of Houston can work with Sicom to grow their business.
Sicom’s new facility is located at 19705 Aldine Westfield and will be operational in the fall of 2014.
